Over my career, I have led the redesign or first design of several enterprise-level websites. Site redesigns require user research, usability studies, site flows, wireframes, development and, of course, design. There are many stakeholders involved, and building consensus is key. I have included four case studies in this section.

Case Study 3: Library of Congress - MyLOC
When I started working at the Library of Congress in 2008, plans were already underway to create a new sister site for the main website that would make the Library more approachable for patrons, with a personalized experience and featured holdings of interest. I was asked to design this new website.
One particularly successful component was my idea of the “features scroller” below the navigation. Every department wanted to have its prized items featured on the homepage, but with the Library's vast holdings, displaying even this small sliver of its collection would have been overwhelming. To meet this challenge, I created a special carousel section in the middle of the home page that could handle more items. This way, visitors could experience the breadth of the Library's collection, while each highlighted piece received the focus it deserved.
